The ninth season of the ‘America’s Next Top Model’ was aired on September 19, 2007. The season began with thirteen girls being chosen for the final countdown. Their first challenge on the show was a photo shoot portraying adverse affects of smoking, as the theme of the season was ‘Green’. After the photo shoot, the judges decided to eliminate Mila. Next, the girls were given walking lessons by J. Alexander. For their next photo shoot, the girls were made to climb a wall wearing couture. At the end of the episode, it was Kimberly, who was made to quit the show. In the next episode, the girls were given makeovers. During the makeover Bianca was given a bald look. The girls this time had to choose clothes for themselves and do their make up on their own, using CoverGirl magazine. After the photo shoot, the girls had to face, another elimination. The judges decided to send home Victoria. The girls were then taught how to pose while in the air by jumping on a trampoline. The girls were then made to pose as gargoyles on the roof of a high rise building. At the end, judges decided to eliminate Janet.
After the girls got lessons on being a spokesperson from none other than Tyson Beckford, for their next photo shoot they had to model with various recyclable materials. After the shoot, the judges decided to eliminate Ebony. The girls were then made to shoot a music video with Enrique Iglesias. After the whole shoot, the girls were then made to face elimination and the judges decided to kick Sarah out. The girls were then made to pair up with students of fashion designing, from Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. For the elimination round the girls were made to pose with burning car. The judges decided to send home Ambreal, as they felt that she lacks the model spirit in her. The girls were then taken to Shanghai, China. The girls there learned basic martial art poses. They, then, had to do a commercial and a photo-shoot for CoverGirl. After the photo shoot, the judges decided to eliminate Lisa. The girls were then made to visit top designers and they had to impress them. At the end of the episode judges decided to eliminate Heather, because of her lack of communication. For their next challenge, the girls were given Chinese clothes, which they had to wear in their own style. They were then made to travel to the Great Wall of China where the photo shoot was held. After having a look at the shots the judges decided that Bianca would have to end her aspiration of becoming America’s Next Top Model. As usual, the final three had to do a commercial for CoverGirl. Jenah was eliminated by the judges. With only Saleisha and Chantal left, their final challenge was a walk down the runway. Finally, the judges decided Saleisha, to be America’s Next Top Model.
